What is that?
Up to now, I have been saying ''Have an expression'' and ''Get an expression''. Was I wrong?

''He took a more serious expression'' or ''He wore a more serious expression'' ?

''I had an indifferent expression'' or ''I was wearing an indifferent expression'' ?

'wear/put on/assume/have an expression' are more natural than 'take' or 'get an expression' in most contexts.

What do you mean by natural?

Use have or wear. Don't use get or take.

That means when native speakers of English encounter it (read it or hear it), they do not find it strange. It sounds to them as if it was produced by a native speaker too.
