Dear all,

What is the meaning of "10-second barrel" in context about surfing?
"I got about a 12-second barrel on it or a 10-second barrel, so that was a really memorable incredible experience"

"barrel" here is a bit misleading, I guess.

Thanks a lot.

A barrel is the cylindrical surface the surfer rides on, and the time span is how long they are able to ride it.

You mean "his board"??? or it's something else?

Thanks.

Barrel
A barrel is where the wave is hollow when it is breaking. For some surfers it's the be all and end all of surfing. Is sometimes called a "tube."
