Hello,

is it correct English to "Get me him", or is it a bit strange?

I heard it in a video of a TV host who is upset. At about 6m 40 seconds, she says, 'Where is Tom? Can someone get me him?'.

I know 'Get him now!' would be correct, but is it correct to put 'me' between 'get' and 'him'? Or is it considered OK in spoken English?

It's not wrong. It's more common to say, "Get him for me".
Or "Get it for me" rather than "get me it."

Realize that most times, when we are upset, we aren't paying the most attention to how we are speaking. We'll speak less precisely.

OK. Thanks Raymott. I used to wonder why 'get me it' is or sounds wrong instead of 'get me the book'. Now, I understand that 'get me it' is not incorrect although it is not common.

Barb_D - Yes, I realize that. I had not thought about it since I was only trying to figure out if it is correct or not.
