If the tailor fitted him well then the suit should fit him well. Certainly, the suit could not have done the fitting.

It the suit does not fit well then it is a bad fit.

Jed, it's asking what form you would use if the tense is in the past. While "fits" sounds right, it'd what they're looking for.
